蒋锡昌《老子校诂》述评

Review of Jiang Xichang’s Laozi Jiaogu

蒋锡昌的《老子校诂》可说是民国时期训校《老子》最高水平的总结性著作。其书融前代八十四种《老子》版本进行校勘,足见其校勘之广度。蒋氏的研究其实为我们重校王弼本《老子》提供了一个借鉴。蒋氏之训诂理路承自王念孙,多以汉魏古训为遵,探求文本原义,其训诂多平实可信。

Laozi Jiaogu written by Jiang Xichang can be said to be a summative work of the highest level in textual research in the Republic of China.The book collects 84 editions of Laozi,reflecting the breadth of its literal emendation.His careful collation of Wang Bi’s scriptures shows the breadth of his work.In fact,Jiang’s study provides a reference for us to revise Wang Bi’s Laozi.Moreover,his exegetical theory is inherited from Wang Niansun’s,which is mainly based on the ancient exegetics of the Han and Wei Dynasties and seeks for the original meaning of the text with honestnnd reliable annotations.
