摘要
对外汉语学习词典往往因其释义难懂广受诟病,界定与限制使用释义用词是解决释义问题的有效途径。现有对外汉语学习词典的释义普遍没有严格限定释义用词的数量和范围,从而造成了释义难懂和大量循环释义等问题。中高级汉语学习词典应该借鉴《牛津高阶学习词典》等英语学习词典的成熟做法,科学界定释义用词并严格限定释义用词的数量,简化释义元语言,提高释义质量。
Chinese learner’s dictionaries oriented at foreigners have been criticized widely because of their difficult word definitions,and an effective solution to this issue would be to define the defining vocabulary and control its usage.The existing Chinese learner’s dictionaries for foreigners do not usually have strict restrictions on the amount and range of defining vocabulary,which has led to a great number of difficult and circular word definitions.An intermediate/advanced Chinese learner’s dictionary should follow the established experience of English learner’s dictionaries such as Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary to scientifically define the defining vocabulary and strictly restrict its amount,to simplify the defining metalanguage and to improve the quality of word definitions.
