"Place" is an important media and subject of American contemporary poet Charles Wright's poetry, which is a peculiar form to record his memories. Place acts as the door into his memories. His poems are all lyrics or nonnarratives, but place turns the nonnarrative poems as a whole into a grand narrative personal autobiography. In his poetics, man should hold a humble attitude to indenture himself to place, so as to absorb its spirituality and ultimately discover the light which can redeem himself.
