摘要
美国恐怖小说家H.P.洛夫克拉夫特提出的“宇宙恐怖”概念在二十世纪文学史上留下了一抹奇诡的印迹,影响着许多文学、艺术和电影创作者。如果从传统美学的视角来观照洛氏的这一概念,便会发现其与伯克和康德的崇高理论之间的相似和不同之处。这一结果表明宇宙恐怖事实上是一种崇高感扭曲之后的变体,而这种错位和变形本质上是对“现代性”和人文主义的反讽和批判。
The classic concept of Cosmic Horror established by the American novelist H.P.Lovecraft left a dazzling trace in 20th literary history,and has been influencing numerous authors in literature,fine art and film industry.If adopting a traditional aesthetic perspective,it is easy to notice the similarities and difference between Cosmic Horror and the theory of sublimity by Edmund Burke and Immanuel Kant.The results indicate that the former is a subversion of the former in fact.Moreover,deeper connotations of cosmic horror point towards the critic of modernity and humanism.
