On Coping Strategies of Information Redundancy and Insufficiency in Interpreting Activities

口译活动中存在信息冗余与信息欠释现象。本文根据平行文本分析,探讨口译员在处理信息冗余与欠释时,如何依靠自身背景知识储备和译前准备进行识别和决策,通过省译、指代、显化和增补等口译技巧,实现源语与译语间信息冗余度的平衡。

Information redundancy and information insufficiency co-exist in interpreting activities.Based on a parallel textual analysis,this paper discusses how interpreters identify information redundancy or insufficiency with their general knowledge and advance preparation.On this basis,they will adopt such interpreting skills as omission,reference,explicitation and addition to achieve redundancy balance between the source language and the target language.
