魏了翁与湘学之关系

On the Relations Between Wei Liaoweng and Neo-Confucianism in Hunan

魏了翁是南宋著名的理学家和经学家,与湘学具有深厚的渊源。首先,魏了翁与张栻门人交往密切,私淑张栻之学;其次,魏了翁在治学方法、治学思路以及理欲观上深受湖湘学的影响;再次,魏了翁为湘学学统的确立也做出重要贡献:一是推崇湖湘学派代表人物胡宏与张栻,将胡宏与张栻纳入儒家道统体系,凸显了胡宏与张栻在理学中的地位;二是魏了翁为湘学鼻祖周敦颐请谥,肯定了周敦颐的理学贡献。

Wei Liaoweng was a famous Neo-Confucianist and scholar of Confucian classics in the Southern Song dynasty,who had profound relations with Neo-Confucianism in Hunan.Firstly,Wei Liaoweng had close contact with disciples of Zhangshi,and thus absorbed the learning of Zhangshi.Secondly,Wei Liaoweng was deeply influenced by Neo-Confucianism in Hunan in his research methods,research ideas and views of heavenly laws and human desires.Thirdly,Wei Liaoweng also made important contributions to the establishment of the academic system of Neo-Confucianism in Hunan:First,he respected Hu Hong and Zhangshi,representatives of Neo-Confucianism in Hunan,and brought them into the orthodox Confucian system,highlighting their status in Neo-Confucianism;second,Wei Liaoweng pleaded for a posthumous title for Zhou Dunyi,founder of Neo-Confucianism in Hunan,thus affirming Zhou Dunyi's contribution to Neo-Confucianism.
