Exploring the influence of community outdoor built environment on physical activity of the elderly is an objective need to enhance public health, improve the research of community outdoor space for aging. The introduction of social ecology has triggered the thinking on the relationship between physical and nonphysical environment, and the perspective of the influence mechanism of physical activity(PA)focuses on the process and mode of interaction of influencing factors. In this paper, based on the definition of related concepts and theoretical basis, the influencing factors of PA and the social-ecological model, the measurement of factors, and empirical research on the environment attributes and the influencing mechanism of PA are analyzed. Then, the challenges and prospects of PA influence mechanism are proposed to explore the following research direction.
