巴金一生写有面广量丰的书信,但由于种种原因,尚有大量书信散佚在外。1939年间巴金致孙陵的两通书简,虽已被极少数学人关注到,然而没有得以披露,基本的考证和释读都无从说起。这两通书简,为我们认识巴金1939年8—10月的著译工作及其计划、身体状况及其打算提供了重要入口,有助于廓清巴金第一次居桂林期间的一些史实,有利于我们明了巴金1939年困居上海期间的文化窘境以及他巧妙的文化抗战策略。

Ba Jin wrote a wide range of letters in his life,but due to various reasons,there are still a large number of letters are still missing.The two letters written by Ba Jin to Sun Ling in 1939,although very few scholars have paid attention to them,have not been disclosed,and the basic textual research and interpretation can not be mentioned.These two books provide an important entrance for us to understand Ba Jin's translation work,his plan,his physical condition and his plan from August to October 1939,which will help us to clarify some historical facts of Ba Jin's first stay in Guilin,and help us to understand Ba Jin's cultural predicament during his captivity in Shanghai in 1939 as well as his skills in the cultural war against Japan.
