摘要
研究回顾了国外元话语研究60年(1959—2019)相关文献,对研究发展趋势、出现的争议或问题,进行了梳理和分析。结果表明:近年元话语研究发展迅速;元话语研究主题丰富,讨论最多的为学术论文、互动式元话语、教学反思;元话语研究主要通过质性手段呈现,并常辅以语料库研究法及比较研究法。当前元话语在内涵、理论基础、分析可靠性上仍存在争议,研究者提出限定概念边界、建构独立理论体系、开发元话语自动识别技术等解决办法。上述分析结果对元话语研究、学术语篇分析具有一定参考价值。
Through a state of the art analysis of the metadiscourse studies within 60 years(1959—2019), this study tries to map the trends and summarize the controversial findings of the published research. The results reveal that the interest on metadiscourse has grown up tremendously over the past 60 years. Qualitative approach, corpus-based analyzing method and comparative approach are employed most frequently in this field. Academic publications, pedagogical implications, metadiscourse markers are the main focuses of the researchers. But due to the fuzziness of the concept of metadiscourse, there are still disputes on the reliability of the findings. Researchers try to settle the disputes by limiting the scope of the term, strengthening its theoretical grounding, and adopting automatic identification technology. The findings have implications for metadiscourse a-nalysis and academic writing analysis.
