Yu Mingdi is a famous library theorist and practitioner in contemporary China.He has made fruitful achievements in the research fields of library science such as periodical science,library management science,philology and reader science.Especially he has formed his own academic thought system in reader theory and practice research,such as readers,reader work,library and readers,library and reading,etc,and made the positive contribution to the discipline construction and development of reader study in China.In the key stage of library service transformation and smart library construction,it is of great theoretical value and practical significance to explore and study the thoughts of reader studies in order to promote library(science)work and research.
