Reasons for Baidi’s Eastward Migration in Northern Shaanxi

陕北白狄东迁原因有三:首先,晋国“和戎政策”,给陕北白狄提供了和平的外部环境,和戎也使白狄与晋的交流扩大,使白狄跨过黄河逐渐向东迁徙。其次,强大且与白狄不友好的赤狄,在白狄东迁之前被晋国剿灭,使白狄东迁没有恐惧,晋国在和戎时版图保持在今太原以南,白狄途经今太原及其以北地区的东迁之路是畅通的。最后,陕北白狄的东迁受到春秋时期陕北自然气候环境恶化的影响。

There are three reasons for Baidi’s eastward migration from Northern Shaanxi.First of all,it is the“Seeking Peace Policy”implemented by Jin State that provides a peaceful external environment for it,which also expands the communication between Baidi and Jin,making Baidi gradually move eastward across the Yellow River gradually.Next,Chidi,which is powerful and unfriendly to Baidi,is exterminated by Jin before Baidi moves eastward,making Baidi move eastward without any fear.During the period of“Seeking Peace Policy”,the territory of Jin is kept to the south of Taiyuan today,and the migration through Taiyuan and its north was smooth.Finally,the migration is affected by the deterioration of natural climate and environment in northern Shaanxi during the Spring and Autumn Period.
