Evaluation of understanding the instruction for HIV-1 saliva rapid test reagent by men who have sex with men

目的评价男男性行为者(MSM)对艾滋病病毒(HIV)唾液快速检测试剂说明书的理解力。方法设计调查问卷,包括基本信息和15道针对HIV唾液快检试剂说明书中关键信息的问题。在自愿咨询检测点,MSM阅读说明书(无时间限制)并填写调查问卷。结果招募225人,其中33.78%(76人)答对11~15道题,充分理解关键信息;66.22%(149人)答对1~10道题不等,对关键信息理解不充分。9道问题的回答正确率≤70%,其中问题"患有牙周炎时是否可用本试剂检测HIV"最低,仅13.33%。单因素分析结果显示,MSM对关键信息的理解受民族和HIV唾液快检试剂的知晓情况的影响。多因素分析结果显示,与汉族相比,少数民族对说明书的理解更充分[比值比(OR)=5.206];与了解HIV唾液快检试剂者相比,未听说过者对说明书的理解更不充分(OR=0.224)。结论MSM对HIV唾液快检试剂的说明书理解不充分,与民族和HIV唾液快检试剂的知晓情况有关。当用于艾滋病自检时,自检结果的准确性可能会受影响,建议合理修改说明书。

Objective To evaluate the comprehension of instructions of HIV saliva rapid diagnostic test reagent by men who have sex with men(MSM).Methods The questionnaire was designed including basic information and 15 questions for key information in understanding the instructions of HIV saliva rapid test reagent.At the voluntary counselling and testing clinic,MSM read the instruction and filled in the questionnaire.Results Among 225 MSM recruited,76(33.78%)answered a total of 11-15 questions correctly and fully understood the key information.149(66.22%)answered 1-10 questions correctly and didn’t fully understand the key information.The correct rate of the 9 questions was less than or equal to 70%,among which the question"whether the reagent can be used to detect HIV when you have periodontitis"was the lowest,only 13.33%.The result of univariate analysis showed the comprehension of key information among MSM was affected by ethnic groups and the knowledge level of HIV saliva rapid diagnostic tests.The result of multivariate analysis showed that ethnic minorities were more likely to have sufficient understanding than Han ethnic group(OR=5.206),and those unaware of knowledge of HIV saliva rapid diagnostic tests were more likely to have insufficient understanding than those aware of(OR=0.224).Conclusion MSM do not fully understand the instruction of HIV saliva rapid diagnostic testing,which is related to the ethnic groups and the knowledge level of HIV saliva rapid diagnostic testing.If HIV saliva rapid diagnostic test reagent is used for HIV self-testing,it is recommended to modify the instructions.
