摘要
算法技术正日益深入影响人们的文化实践,造成突出的文化区隔与分层。从文化社会学“品味”与区隔相关理论出发,考察算法传播如何以新的机制形塑数字时代的文化区隔与分层。算法将用户文化品味进行“数据化”分析处理,为文化生产提供“量化”数据依据,并形成品味固定与区隔;算法排序以一种隐蔽、不透明的控制力量形成了文化品味、内容与群体的高低分层;算法偏见进一步强化和再生产着层级文化间的权力不均。由此形成的文化区隔的“自动生产”及文化分层固化与文化冲突风险,这些都成为反思算法传播形塑文化实践问题的关键。
Algorithm technology is increasingly deeply shaping our culture practice,resulting in the fearful cultural distinction and stratification.Based on the theories of“taste”and distinction in cultural sociology,this study explores how algorithm communication shapes cultural distinction and stratification in the digital age with a new mechanism.Largely using automated and data-based technologies and methods to surveil tastes provides the“quantitative”data for cultural production,forming fixed and separated cultural tastes.Ranking algorithms creates hierarchy of cultural tastes,content and groups with subtle and hidden control.Algorithmic bias reinforces and reproduces the power inequality between cultures.It is necessary to be critical to algorithms,which shape the culture distinction automatically and bring risks of culture solidification and conflict.
