摘要
本文探讨了创业者幽默对新企业团队创造力影响的路径。从情感和认知视角出发,利用幽默的车轮模型以及社会信息加工理论,进一步考察团队创业激情与团队探索氛围的中介作用。通过对91个新企业团队的有效问卷数据进行实证分析,研究结果表明:创业者幽默正向影响新企业团队创造力,团队创业激情和团队探索氛围在创业者幽默与新企业团队创造力之间起中介作用。本文从情感和认知视角揭示了创业者幽默对新企业团队创造力影响的路径,对于推进创业者幽默在团队层面的影响研究具有重要理论价值。
In recent years,entrepreneur humor has become a research hotspot in the field of organization management.Entrepreneur humor is considered as a practical and valuable management tool.The impact of entrepreneur humor on organizational effectiveness has attracted the attention of scholars.Existing research mainly discusses the impact of entrepreneur humor on the attitude,behavior and performance of employees or subordinates from perspectives of relationship process,social exchange and resource preservation.Humor events are important not only because they can have a positive impact on individuals,but also because the impact can be passed on to others and play a role in the team.Unfortunately,research on the impact of entrepreneur humor at the team level is very scarce.In fact,new venture teams can overcome the scarcity of individual entrepreneurs'resources and abilities,effectively identify opportunities and gather resources,so the impact of entrepreneur humor on team effectiveness is worthy of further research.Scholars have already issued calls to strengthen research on the impact of entrepreneur humor at the team level.As an important team-level variable,team creativity is regarded as the key for new ventures to build a competitive advantage in a dynamic environment.Therefore,among the various factors that may impact team creativity,entrepreneur humor has become the new-focus of attention.It is very important to explore the impact of entrepreneur humor on team creativity.Although scholars have realized that entrepreneur humor can have a significant impact on team creativity,existing research has not yet fully discussed this relationship,and the impact path of entrepreneur humor on new venture team creativity is still unclear.This requires further exploration.Our study attempts to explore the impact path of entrepreneur humor on new venture team creativity from perspectives of emotion and cognition.The unique contribution of entrepreneur humor to innovative behavior and creativity is that it triggers a complex psychological state,which includes positive emotion and deep cognition.Due to the complexity of psychological factors,it is difficult to explain the impact path of entrepreneur humor on new venture team creativity from a single perspective,so it needs to be explored from as many perspectives as possible.Meanwhile,scholars call for an integrated study of various impact paths of entrepreneur humor.Thus,from perspectives of emotion and cognition,our study reveals the mediating role of team entrepreneurial passion and team exploration climate between entrepreneur humor and new venture team creativity based on the wheel model of humor and social information processing theory.We obtained empirical evidence through an empirical analysis of valid questionnaire data from 91 new venture teams.Our study shows that:(1)entrepreneur humor has a positive impact on new-venture team creativity.Entrepreneur humor enhances team creativity by stimulating team members'divergence of creative and innovative thinking,and by helping carry out positive and effective communication within the team;(2)team entrepreneurial passion and team exploration climate play mediating roles in the relationship between entrepreneur humor and new venture team creativity. Entrepreneur humor can enable team membersto start and continue a cycle of positive emotions to form team common emotions, and establish common goals and values topromote the formation of team shared identity, thereby inspiring team entrepreneurial passion. At the same time, entrepreneur humorcan make team members feel that exploratory behavior is encouraged and supported, thereby creating a team exploration climate.Team entrepreneurial passion and team exploration climate can help team members proactively generate, communicate, andimplement innovative ideas, tolerate possible failures caused by creative reforms, and ultimately enhance new venture team creativity.Our study expands the existing research in the following aspects: Firstly, our study discusses the impact of entrepreneur humoron new venture team creativity, which answers the call for in-depth discussions of the impact of entrepreneur humor on team effectiveness,and enriches research on the antecedents of team creativity and its impact mechanisms. Secondly, from perspectives of emotionand cognition, our study reveals the mediating role of team entrepreneurial passion and team exploration climate between entrepreneurhumor and new venture team creativity.Our study also has management implications: First, the entrepreneur should attach importance to the positive role of humor,regard humor as a valuable strategic resource in the entrepreneurial process, and use entrepreneur humor to enhance new ventureteam creativity. For this reason, entrepreneurs can consciously train themselves to use humor, such as participate in humor-relatededucation and training courses for executives. Secondly, new ventures should pay attention to the important role of emotional andcognitive factors in the process of entrepreneur humor enhancing new venture team creativity, strive to ignite the “ fire of passion”for team members through various means, create a relaxed and free climate of exploration, so that team members can actively, proactivelyand efficiently complete work tasks, and then improve the ability of team members to solve problems creatively. Future researchcan also explore the following areas: the impact of negative entrepreneur humor on team effectiveness;the consequences andimpact mechanisms of entrepreneur humor from other perspectives;the boundary conditions of entrepreneur humor enhancing newventure team creativity;the antecedent variables of entrepreneur humor;the localization research of entrepreneur humor.
