“模范”还是“败笔”?——以SCAD为例探析中国香港历史建筑保育成果

“Model”or“Failure”?ACase of SCAD toAnalyze the ConservationAchievements of Historic Buildings in Hong Kong,China

前北九龙裁判法院交由美国萨凡纳艺术与设计学院进行活化使用是中国香港历史建筑保育计划第一期的项目。从2010年投入使用至2020年关闭,运行了整整10年时间。文章通过调查和分析,反思该项目的经验和教训。前期通过政府招标的计划书、申请机构的标书等一手文献资料,结合田野调查,对已经投入使用的萨凡纳艺术与设计学院进行实地考察,并对运营人进行了深入访谈。萨凡纳艺术与设计学院凭借其丰富的历史建筑保育经验,对前北九龙裁判法院的建筑本身进行了较好的保护,然而历史建筑所承载的地区的历史文化,没有在活化使用中得到良好的传承。在历史建筑保育过程中,除了保护和利用历史建筑,还应该注重凸显其历史文化价值。

The former North Kowloon Magistracy was activated by the Savannah College of Art and Design in the United States,which is the first phase of the Hong Kong historic building conservation project.It has been in operation for 10 years from 2010 to 2020.The paper reflects on the experience and lessons of the project by investigation and analysis.The survey method adopted in this paper is mainly investigation.In the early stage,through the first-hand literature such as the government's bidding plan and the bidding documents of the applicant agencies,as well as the field study,we made a field study on Savannah College of Art and Design which has been put into use,and conducted in-depth interviews with the operators.With its rich conservation experience of historic buildings,Savannah College of Art and Design has protected the buildings of the former North Kowloon Magistracy well.However,the history and culture of the area carried by the historic buildings have not been well inherited in the process of activation and use.During the process of historic buildings’conservation,in addition to the protection and utilization of historic buildings,we should also pay attention to highlighting their historical and cultural values.
