Poetry and Truth:The Practice of Biographical Writing of Xiao Hong in China and Overseas

20世纪40年代至今,来自中、美、日三国的五十余位作者先后撰写出版的萧红传记已达百余种,不断丰富了“萧红传”的写作模式与类型。武汉大学现当代文学专业采用传记作品课堂研讨的形式,分别从萧红传记的写作背景、作者构成、传记类型等视角出发,深入讨论了“萧红传”在时代环境与写作观念变迁过程中呈现的若干问题与经验得失。与谈者认为传记写作必须坚持求真求实的写作态度,将历史属性作为传记写作的最高要义。在坚持真实性与可信性的同时,可适当借助修辞手段与叙述技巧,增强传记的文学性与可读性。

Since the 1940s,more than 50 authors from China,the United States,and Japan have written more than one hundred official biographies of Xiao Hong.These fruits have enriched the mode and genre of“Xiao Hong‘s biography”.Through seminars on biographical works,the Department of Modern and Contemporary Literature at Wuhan University focused on the background,authors,and genres of biographies of Xiao Hong,and discussed in depth some problems and experience of Xiao Hong’s biographical writing under the circumstances of continuously changing times and writing concepts.The participants believe that the biography writing must adhere to the attitude of seeking truth and truthfulness and make historicity the highest priority of biographical writing.While insisting on the authenticity and credibility of biographies,the literary and readability of biographies canbeenhanced by rhetorical means and narrative techniques.
