Re-thinking the Three Elements of Marx's Freedom in the Context of Modernization

马克思对自由的超越涉及三个重要环节:认识必然是自由的基础;自由时间是自由的关键;自我实现是自由的归宿。现代化背景下,自由的含义已发生了新的变化,对自由的诠释已经不能再仅仅局限于“摆脱束缚”意义上的价值宣扬,而应从现实角度出发对马克思自由三要素进行重新整理与思考。在追求自由的过程中,只有认识必然但不纠缠于必然、增加自由时间但不逃避劳动、实现自我但不放纵自我,才能不断接近自由王国的疆域。

Marx’s transcendence of freedom involves three important links:understanding must be the basis of freedom;free time is the key to freedom;self-realization is the destination of freedom.Under the background of modernization,the meaning of freedom has changed,and the interpretation of freedom can no longer be limited to the value promotion in the sense of“getting rid of bondage”.Instead,we should rearrange and think about the three elements of Marx’s freedom from the realistic point of view.In the pursuit of freedom,it is only by knowing the inevitable but not dwelling on it,by increasing free time but not avoiding labor,and by realizing oneself but not indulging oneself that one can keep approaching the frontiers of the kingdom of freedom.
