Market mechanism has been recognized and adopted around the world as an effective approach to promote low carbon development and reduce GHG emissions.At present,there are about 31 emissions trading schemes in place or scheduled for implementation in various jurisdictions.The carbon market in 2020 saw Covid-19 pandemic,economic recovery and new climate ambitions and achieved record-high trading volume and value.This article intends to review and summarizes the developments of carbon markets around the world,and provides an outlook on 2021 market.
