Perceived corruption refers to the subjective perception among the public on officials'corruption status, reflecting the psychological cognition among the citizens on the overall corruption condition of the government.Based on the theory of social comparison and attribution theory, this paper uses the large sample data of“netizen social consciousness and attitude survey”to conduct empirical study on the relationship between corruption perception and inequality consciousness. The study finds that corruption perception positively affects the awareness of inequality, subjective social status moderates the influence of perceived corruption on awareness of inequality, while political trust partially mediates the moderating role of subjective social status in the relationship between perceived corruption and the awareness of inequality. This study reveals the inducing and catalyzing effect of perceived corruption on awareness of inequality, and shows the situational effect of subjective social status and political trust on people's social cognition and attribution, providing empirical rationale for unswervingly persisting in anti-corruption struggle, deepening economic and social system reform and enhancing people's sense of acquisition.
