Characteristic Analysis and Enlightenment of Past National Excellent MPA Dissertations

当前国内MPA人才培养规模不断壮大,但MPA学位论文质量也存在一些普遍问题亟须得到解决。以2005—2019年间全国MPA教指委评选出的八届共104篇MPA优秀学位论文作为研究对象,主要采用描述性统计分析方法,从优秀论文的高校分布、学科分布、选题类型、研究主题、研究方法、核心理论以及内容篇幅等七个方面进行全面分析,以把握MPA优秀学位论文所具备的典型特征。研究发现:MPA优秀学位论文主要分布在“985工程”和“211工程”建设高校,以行政管理学科方向最多;优秀学位论文多以问题研究型为主,研究主题方面存在较大差异,研究方法以定量研究居多,运用公共经济相关理论最多,并且近年来论文篇幅整体上呈现逐年上升趋势。基于此,提出MPA专业学位论文质量提升的几点建议。

China’s MPA enrollment has been constantly increasing,but common problems with MPA dissertation quality call for immediate solution.This paper examines 104“Excellent MPA Dissertations”selected by National Teaching Steering Committee between 2005 and 2019.Adopting descriptive statistics as the primary methodology,the researchers analyze the authors’universities,disciplines,subject types,research themes,methodologies,core theories,and paper sizes,aiming to detect shared characteristics of excellent MPA dissertations.It is found that the dissertation authors are mainly from universities of 985 project and 211 project.Public administration takes the largest proportion in the disciplines.The majority of the dissertations are problem-oriented.The research themes are significantly varied.Most of the researches are quantitative.The most popular theories are in the field of public economy.Lastly,in general,the dissertation size has been growing in recent years.Based on the findings above,the authors put forward some suggestions on MPA dissertation quality improvement.
