贫困是人类有史以来就面临的最尖锐的社会问题之一,消除贫困是联合国确定的千年发展目标的首要指向。新中国成立后,党和政府以消除贫困现象、追求共同富裕作为自己的使命和目标,从国家“一穷二白”、亿万人民饥寒交迫的生存境况起步,经过长期不懈的努力,实现了稳定解决十几亿人口的温饱问题和全面建成小康社会的重大历史性成就,而新时代通过精准扶贫将绝对贫困和区域性整体贫困现象送进了历史,构成了其中最为亮丽的篇章,它创造了人类有史以来的反贫困奇迹,也为当今世界反贫困提供了中国方案。在中国的减贫实践中,党的领导和社会主义制度为消除贫困提供了根本遵循与有力保障,持续性的中长期规划提供了行动依据,而精准扶贫更是有效消除贫困现象的制胜法宝,社会保障体系的日益健全亦发挥出了不可替代的重要作用。

Poverty is one of the most acute social problems in the history of mankind.Poverty eradication is an important direction of the Millennium Development Goals set by the United Nations.Since the founding of People’s Republic of China,the CPC and the government have taken the elimination of poverty and the pursuit of common prosperity as their mission and goal.Starting from the state of“poverty and blankness”and the living condition of hundreds of millions of people suffering from hunger and cold,through long-term unremitting efforts,China has achieved a qualitative leap in comprehensively solving the food and clothing problem of more than one billion people and building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way.In the new era,absolute poverty and regional overall poverty have been brought into history through targeted poverty alleviation,which constitutes the most beautiful chapter.It has created the anti-poverty miracle in the history of mankind,and also provided China's plan for the world's anti-poverty practice.In the practice of poverty elimination in China,the leadership of the CPC and socialist system provide the fundamental guidelines for poverty eradication,persistent medium-and long-term planning provides the basis for action,and targeted poverty alleviation is the magic weapon to effectively eliminate poverty,while the increasingly improved social security system also plays an irreplaceable role.
