The CPC and the Shaping of the Chinese Spirit

所谓中国精神,是指五四运动之后的100多年来,由中国共产党人在领导中国人民进行革命、建设、改革过程中,把马克思主义与中国实践相结合,并汲取中华民族优秀历史文化精华所形成的革命精神和奋斗精神。这些精神又反过来推动了中国的革命、建设和改革事业的发展,创造出一个又一个令世人瞩目的物质成果,也为后人留下了宝贵的精神财富。当前,我们党即将迎来建党100周年,中国正处在“两个一百年”奋斗目标的历史交汇点,更需要我们继承和发扬伟大的中国精神,为着实现全面建设社会主义现代化国家的战略任务而继续奋斗。

The Chinese spirit refers to the revolutionary spirit and striving spirit forged by the Chinese Communists in leading the Chinese people in revolution,construction and reform over the past 100 years or so after the May Fourth Movement,when they combined Marxism with Chinese practice and drew on the essence of the fine history and culture of the Chinese nation.These spirits,in turn,have promoted the development of China’s revolution,construction and reform,created one after another remarkable material achievements,and also left a precious spiritual wealth for later generations.At present,our Party is about to celebrate the centenary of its founding,and our country is at the historical point of the“two centenary goals”.It is all the more important for us to carry forward the great Chinese spirit and continue to strive for the strategic task of building a modern socialist country in an all-around way.
