中国周边地区是中国与外部世界联系的桥梁和纽带,周边外交直接影响着中国的安全和发展利益。新中国成立以来,为更好地维护国家的主权、安全和发展利益,中国政府高度重视周边外交工作,根据国际国内形势变化及与周边国家关系的发展状况,提出了一系列开展周边外交的创新理念、思想,制定了相应的战略策略、方针政策,为开创全方位外交新格局发挥了积极作用,推动了中国与周边国家睦邻友好关系的不断深化和拓展。70多年中国周边外交实践既呈现阶段性特征,也存在内在统一的逻辑,较好地促进了中国总体外交目标的实现,留下了宝贵的历史经验。

China’s peripheral areas are the bridge and link between China and the outside world.The peripheral diplomacy directly affects China’s security and development interests.Since the founding of new China,to better safeguard China’s sovereignty,security and development interests,the Chinese government has attached great importance to foreign affairs.According to the international and domestic situation and the development of China’s relations with the peripheral countries,the government has put forward a series of innovative ideas and thoughts for peripheral diplomacy and formulated the corresponding strategies,tactics,guidelines and policies.All these have played a positive role in creating a new pattern of all-around diplomacy and promoted the deepening and expanding of China’s good-neighborly and friendly relations with the peripheral countries.Over the past 70 years,China’s peripheral diplomacy has not only presented different characteristics in different stages,but also had an internal unified logic,which has promoted the realization of China’s overall diplomatic goals and accumulated valuable historical experiences.
