There Is No Feast Without Fish

在咱们胶东,"无鱼不成席"已成为约定俗成的一种认知。无论是新婚嫁娶、宴请宾朋,还是逢年过节,"鸡(有时是参)打头,鱼扫尾"已成为固定的宴请套路,传承已久。说起"无鱼不成席"里的"鱼",其实大有来头。宴请高客,主人会选全头全尾的囫囵鱼,得有鳞,还必须是海里的鱼,像黄菇鱼、加吉鱼等。近年来,有的人家也会选淡水鱼,当然也是全头全尾的囫囵鱼,也得有鳞,像鲤鱼等。
