The Grammaticalization of the Modal Adverb"Mankou"under the Effect of Critical Frequency

由名词虚化而来的副词较少,情状副词"满口"正是其中之一,它的产生具有一定的特殊性。偏正短语"满口"于唐五代时期词汇化为名词,明清时期其名词义项发展完整。宋代开始,名词"满口"大量处于临界环境中,在高频率的使用以及主观化的语用推动下,于明清时期语法化为情状副词。

There are few adverbs derived from nouns,and the modal adverb"Mankou"is one of them,which has some special characteristics.The noun"Mankou"was lexicalized into a noun in the Tang and Five Dynasties,and its noun meaning was fully developed in the Ming and Qing dynasties.Since the Song Dynasty,the noun"Mankou"has been in a critical environment,and was grammatically transformed into a modal adverb in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,driven by the high frequency of use and subjective discourse,and the mechanism of its grammaticalization was analyzed.
