A Correct Understanding of the Transformation of Principal Social Contradiction in the New Era

中国特色社会主义进入新时代,社会主义初级阶段由此划分成两个不同的时期。新时代之前可以称为“寻求发展”的时期,新时代则可以称为“发展之后”的时期。关于新时代社会主要矛盾转化的论断是关于社会主义初级阶段中“发展之后”的时期矛盾特殊性的认识和反映,它不是对“寻求发展”的时期社会主要矛盾的简单否定,而是在继承“寻求发展”的时期社会主要矛盾的本质内涵和根本特征的基础上,对于“发展之后”的时期所呈现的新内涵和新特点的综合的理论概括。因此,新时代社会主要矛盾的“转化”其意旨不在于“变”,而在于“变”与“不变”的辩证统一,具有丰富的理论内涵。

Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and the primary stage of socialism has thus been divided into two different periods.The thesis on the transformation of the principalsocial contradictions in the new era is the recognition and reflection of the particularity of the contradictions in the period of“after development”in the primary stage of socialism.It is not a simple denial of the principal social contradictions in the period of“seeking development”,but an inheritance based on the essential connotations and fundamental characteristics of the principal social contradictions in the period of“seeking development”,and a comprehensive theoretical summary of the new connotations and new features presented in the period of“after development”.Therefore,the“transformation”of the principal social contradictions in the new era does not lie in“change”but in the dialectical unity of“changing”and“unchanging”,which has rich theoretical connotations.
