The Internet of Things and optical communication are two technologies that play an outstanding role in the development of society.Only the organic combination of the two technologies can reveal their true value and open up the Smart Earth model.At present,IoT technology and economic innovation research has been carried out all over the world.Based on the basic structure of the Internet of Things,this paper will analyze the optical communication technology in the Internet of Things,analyze the technical value in different levels of the Internet of Things,and analyze the current situation and future use trend of the optical communication technology in the Internet of Things.The development of the Internet of Things cannot be separated from mobile communication,near field wireless communication and optical fiber communication,which are the basis of the development of the Internet of Things.It is necessary to formulate standardized and unified technical standards and protocols for the Internet of Things,so as to solve the development problems of the Internet of Things and promote technological progress.
