The Hollowing out of the U.S. and Its Systems in Crisis

引言:肘腋之疾还是心腹之患?2020年,是“五月花号”抵达美洲大陆400周年,也是里根当选40周年。然而17世纪以降逐渐形成的主流文化叙事和上世纪80年代开启的新保守主义革命,如今却都难以为继。2021年,是苏联解体30周年。但对今日美国而言,“冷战红利”已经消失殆尽,其主导的全球化不仅面临深度重构的压力,美国在现有全球体系中的地位和角色也日益受到质疑。

The 2020 U.S. presidential election that culminated in the storming of the Capitol marked the turn of U.S. history. This paper contends that the hollowing out of the U.S. state as a result of the New Public Management movement since the 1980 s, combined with plutocracy that increasingly radicalizes and polarizes U.S. politics, diminishes the prospects of reforms that are critical to restoring normalcy and resolving the permanent contradiction between legitimation and overaccumulation.
