传播政治经济学研究的核心问题初探

摘要 传播政治经济学是传播学的一个分支,也是传播学研究的重要流派之一。20世纪50年代前后,加拿大学者达拉斯·斯麦兹在美国伊利诺伊大学开设了传播政治经济学课程,标志着传播政治经济学派的建立。它继承了马克思主义政治经济学的思想,把主流媒体传播活动置于资本主义制度中,从经济活动的视角来观察传媒及其传播行为,思考媒体如何分配制造出传媒产品,传媒所需的生产资料被谁占有和控制以及最终媒介产品的形式和内容的决定权。本文旨在通过北美、欧洲、第三世界三个地域的流派分化及关注侧重点,探讨传播政治经济学研究的核心问题,并通过该领域的新研究焦点来思考传播政治经济学研究的发展方向。 The political economy of communication is a branch of communication science and one of the important schools of communication research.Around the 1950s,Canadian scholar Dallas Smythe opened a course in Communication Political Economy at the University of Illinois,marking the establishment of the School of Communication Political Economy.It inherited the ideas of Marxist political economy and placed mainstream media communication activities in the capitalist system.Observe the media and its communication behavior from the perspective of economic activities,think about how the media distributes the produced media products,who owns and controls the production materials needed by the media,and determines the form and content of the final media products.This article aims to explore the core issues of the study of communication political economy through the differentiation of schools in North America,Europe,and the Third World,and to consider the development direction of the study of communication political economy through the new research focus in this field.
