外语“母语化”的教育理念与教育实践

摘要 多语并存是全球一体化进程的必然结果,是当今社会发展的时代潮流。面对这一大势所趋,每个国家、社会和个人都应该审时度势、因势利导、与时俱进地去积极适应,而非不识时务、因循守旧、墨守成规地消极规避。然而,我国外语学习高投入与低产出严重不成正比的现实一直以来都是众多教育工作者、各级教育行政部门、各位家长和学生乃至整个社会所面临的巨大挑战,也是语言教学改革关注的核心问题。语言学之谜的破解,尤其是外语“母语化”教育理念的提出,为解决这一难题提供了一套最新颖的教育思路以及最可行的整体方案,那就是紧紧抓住儿童语言习得爆炸性的关键期,采用经过论证的科学的教材、教法以及聘请一大批优秀的外籍教师,人为地创造一个科学、健康、优质、互动、无干扰的自然语言环境,使外语在这种人造的自然环境中与母语一样以第一语言的方式习得,实现让幼童在两年左右的时间内,在天真玩耍的过程中,轻而易举地掌握并且彻底内化为终身受用不尽的母语能力的目标,从而把亿万青年从外语学习的深重苦海中彻底解放出来,让他们把自己最美好的青春年华淋漓尽致地挥洒到更有意义的创造性学习以及对自然、对自身无穷奥秘的高深探索中去。外语“母语化”教育理念的实现必须同时具备语言习得关键期以及一个科学、自然、健康、互动、优质的语言环境这两个重要条件,缺一不可。外语“母语化”教育理念在新加坡、加拿大两国的成功实践,使我们有充足的理由相信这一伟大理念同样可以在中国的大地上生根、发芽和结果。 Multi-linguicism is an inevitable consequence of globalization.Facing this unprecedented challenge,all social sectors,government,community,family,and individual,have to make an important and sometime painful choice.In reality,the situation in the teaching and learning of foreign languages is unsatisfactory as is widely recognized in China,constituting a serious problem for educators,government officials,language experts,and students.It is argued that the crack of language puzzles,especially the introduction of the conception of nativization of foreign languages,provides a possible and exciting solution to this long standing and frustrating problem.That is,taking a full advantage of"Critical Period Theory for Language Acquisition",we may set up a"language greenhouse"in which well-planned curriculum,carefully selected teaching materials, native speakers of the target language and modern education technology may work together to create a natural,quality,interactive language environment for children's bilingual or multilingual potentials to develop and to grow up fully in a relatively short period of time before they get into the formal education system so that our students mayget“foreign”language competence internalized fully and naturally, then they could be released from the nightmare of foreign language learning, and their valuable time and energy could be used more meaningfuly on their pursuit of natural and social sciences,and creative works.
