“Understanding the authors and their times”is a very effective way to read texts.In the teaching process,the knowlege of author and writing background can be selected according to the needs of text comprehension,the needs of learning and teaching objectives,the characteristics of the author’s identity and the nature of the text as well as the textbook selection.In the process of teaching,the value of knowledge about“authorship and writing context”can be effectively utilized through the use of the interest-inducing approach,the question-inspiring paradigm,and the thinking resource paradigm.
