新冠疫情对外新闻的级差分析及教学启示

摘要 本研究以评价理论级差系统为理论框架,分析China Daily的300篇新冠疫情对外新闻语料,通过定量统计和定性分析,揭示级差资源的分布规律,阐释级差策略的交际目的和历时变化。研究发现,新冠疫情对外新闻语篇中语势资源的使用频率远高于聚焦资源。语势以强化为主,其中质量强化的使用频率远高于过程强化,量化中则是数量出现频率最高;而聚焦则是锐化的使用频率远高于柔化。研究结果对新闻英语教学有启示意义。 From the perspective of graduation,the study explores the distribution regularities,communication purposes and diachronic change of English news of COVID-19 epidemic.By analyzing 300 news texts selected from China Daily from January 20 to March 31 in 2020,the study finds that force resources are utilized more frequently than focus resources.Specifically,the utilization of intensification is of higher frequency than quantification in force resources.Furthermore,quality occurs much more frequently than process in intensification,and the occurrence of number is of the highest frequency in quantification.Besides,sharpen is utilized more frequently than soften in focus resources.The findings have implications for the teaching of English news.
