How to Define Appropriate Medical Care

适度医疗的概念清楚,多少年不变,但是具体操作是随国家、社会、经济、医疗技术甚至医保政策的变化而变化的。是否适度在医生与患者之间其认知是有差异的。在疾病诊断过程中医生认为对诊断疾病有帮助的措施就是适度的;患者的认知取决于对医生的信任程度以及经济承受能力,当然医生的经验及最终的结果是确定是否适度医疗的关键。总之,(1)有德、有能医生推荐的,即确实是从患者利益出发,有经验的医生推荐的;(2)患者有意愿,即患者认为符合自身的情况愿意接受且经济上能承受的医疗措施就是“适度医疗”。

The concept of appropriate medical care has stayed clear and consistent for many years,but its practice changes accordingly to national policies,economic situation,medical technology and medical insurance policies.Doctors and patients differ in understanding and judging it.Usually,helpful medical treatments in diagnosis would be regarded as appropriate by doctors.While patient's judgement depends on how much they trust their doctors and how much they can afford.The key principle is doctor's experience and final results during practice.In a word,appropriate medical care refers to(1)the care recommended by responsible,qualified and experienced doctors,beneficial for patients;and(2)the care is acceptable and affordable to patients.
