楚人“芈”姓由来再论

Study on the Origin of the Chu Surname Mi

披读楚史,不难发现楚人芈姓系当时社会的共识。通过对《史记·楚世家》《世本·氏姓篇》《大戴礼记·帝系》等相关传世文献的细致考辨,并据最新考古资料,推论楚人芈姓宜源于清华简《楚居》篇所载楚人嫡系先公季连之始居地隈(騩、隗、媿)山,借地名而获,且与季连之母女嬇(隤、溃)有密切联系。又作为后世楚君专用的熊(酓)字,当是以职为氏,与楚人绝地天通的巫祝缩酒等活动有关,楚人能够沟通天地、神人,有大巫之性质的本领,亦可向上追溯至楚嫡系先公季连时期。

Reading the history of Chu,it is not difficult to find out that that Mi(芈)was Chu′s surname was common knowledge of the society at that time.Through the meticulous examination of the relevant historical documents,such as Shi Ji.Chu Shi Jia,Shi Ben.Shi Xing,and Da Dai Li Ji.Di Xi,and the latest archaeological materials,it is inferred that Mi was related to Wei Shan(隈山),where Ji Lian(季连),the ancestor of Chu people,once lived,which was recorded in Chu Ju(《楚居》)of Tsing Hua Bamboo Slips,and was closely connected with Ji Lian(季连)′s mother,Nv kui(女嬇).Xiong(熊),the character specialized for Chu Kings,was related to profession and the wizard′s rituals.Starting from Ji Lian(季连),Chu people were like wizards and had the ability to communicate with the heavens and the earth.
