New Features and New Directions of“Two Services”for Overseas Chinese Affairs under the COVID-19

疫情期间,海外侨胞与中国守望相助,患难与共。华侨华人从物资、人力、国家形象等方面支持中国;而中国也动员多方力量,指导和协助侨胞科学抗疫,维护侨胞们的健康安全和合法权益,使得侨务工作“两个服务”较好地适应了疫情期间的特殊需要。在后疫情时代,在动员广大侨胞持续开展民间外交、促进中外经贸合作的同时,我们也要着力构建海外常态化抗疫机制,助力侨胞复兴经济,以实际行动壮侨力,聚侨心。

During the epidemic period,overseas Chinese and China helped each other and went through thick and thin together.Overseas Chinese support China in terms of materials,human resources and national image,while China also mobilizes various forces to guide and assist overseas Chinese to fight the epidemic scientifically and safeguard their health,safety and legitimate rights and interests,so that the“two services”of overseas Chinese affairs can better adapt to the special needs during the epidemic period.In the post epidemic era,while mobilizing overseas Chinese to carry out non-governmental diplomacy and promote Sino foreign economic and trade cooperation,we should also focus on building a standardized anti epidemic mechanism for overseas Chinese,help overseas Chinese to revive their economy,strengthen their strength with practical actions and gather their hearts.
