成长小说视角下族裔女性的自我探寻——《喜福会》与《芒果街上的小屋》的比较研究

Minority Women's Self-Exploration from the Perspective of Initiation Story:A Comparative Study of The Joy Luck Club and The House on Mango Street

谭恩美的《喜福会》和桑德拉·希斯内罗丝的《芒果街上的小屋》均描绘了美国社会中族裔女性们艰辛的成长历程。她们从天真无知、苦恼迷茫逐步走向成熟独立,并在成长过程中逐渐显现出对自我身份的思考与探索。从成长小说的叙事结构出发,通过比较分析成长阶段中女性身上所展现的异同点,可以揭示华裔和墨裔女性自我追寻过程中的共同性,同时可以探究多元文化背景下二者构建新身份过程中所存在的差异性。

The Joy Luck Club and The House on Mango Street depict minority women's hard growing progress,in which they experience innocence,confusion,anxiety and finally reach maturity and independence,meanwhile revealing their reflection and exploration of self-identities.Revolving around the narrative structure of initiation stories,it intends to study the similarities and differences revealed in the heroines'initiation stages,tries to expose the commonalities of Chinese American women and Mexican American women during their self-discovery journey and to explore the differences of their self-reconstruction in the multicultural society.
