Objective To discuss the influence of PAD class based on cooperative learning on the autonomous learning ability of students in the teaching of TCM internal medicine. Methods Two parallel classes of 2017 Chinese medicine major were selected and divided into experimental group and control group. Spleen, stomach, hepatobiliary syndrome was selected as the test content. The experimental group adopted improved PAD class, while the control group adopted traditional teaching method. The evaluation was carried out with "the self-learning ability assessment scale of medical students" and "the questionnaire after class". Results Teaching group in scale scores and self motivation(W1), learning beliefs(W2), self monitoring and regulating(W4), communication and cooperation ability(W6), four dimensions are all improved(P<0.05), the control group only acquiring and processing information dimension(W5)(P<0.05);Compared with other groups, the improvement scores of W1 and W4 were higher in the experimental group(P<0.05). Most of the students made positive comments on "the questionnaire after class".Conclusion The PAD class based on cooperative learning can help improve students’ autonomous learning ability, which was highly recognized by students and worthy of further promotion.
