商务英语通用语研究现状及展望

Current Developments and Future Directions of Research in Business English as a Lingua Franca

本文梳理商务英语通用语的内涵与研究缘起,并依据主要研究议题,将当前商务英语通用语研究热点与前沿概括为语言学和国际商务学两大研究视角。前者在语音、词汇语法、篇章层面描述商务英语通用语的使用特征,后者探究商务英语通用语在组织内部和外部沟通中被内化为国际商务策略的特殊属性。基于研究的多学科视角及特征,本文提出未来研究应以问题为导向,融合及拓展多学科与多模态研究路径,并讨论商务英语通用语研究的理论建构必要性。

This paper outlines the conceptualization and research development of Business English as a Lingua Franca(BELF).In terms of research topics,the current research focuses and developmental trends are described as involving two disciplinary perspectives,namely,linguistics and international business.The linguistic perspective on BELF illustrates its descriptive features at phonological,lexicogrammatical,and discursive levels.The perspective of international business has internalized BELF as a business strategy in both intra-organizational and inter-organizational communication.Based on the multi-disciplinary perspectives and traits,this paper therefore points out that future BELF research is expected to be problem-led,to integrate multi-disciplinary perspectives,to go further along the path of multimodality,and to develop its theoretical construct.
