The Battle of Changping is of typical historical and geographical significance from the perspective of literature, and has unrivalled value in the history of Chinese military wars. It played a role in the formation of Taihang Mountain culture, and in the precipitation and solidification of the cognition of Shanxi southeast culture. Based on text research, the author analyzes the regional military status of Changping Battle, condenses the characteristics of southeast Shanxi and the orientation of cultural area. Based on a new understanding and interpretation of the Changping Battle, by combining the cultural shift and examining the reconstruction of regional elements in southeast Shanxi, we can provide new strategies and ideas for the development of Gaoping cultural tourism.
