“一种独特的诚实”:叶维廉先生论艾略特的诗与诗学

“A Unique Honesty”:Ye Wei-lian on T.S.Eliot’s Poetry and Poetics

叶维廉先生是我国台湾最早系统研究和评论艾略特诗歌和诗学理论的学者。本文在释读叶维廉先生1957—1960年间发表的《陶潜的〈归去来辞〉与库莱的〈愿〉之比较》《〈焚毁的诺顿〉之世界》《艾略特的批评》《静止的中国花瓶——艾略特与中国诗的意象》等文章的基础上,就叶维廉先生关于“客观应和的事象”“沉思的展现”“一种独特的诚实”“真诗的暗示性”等观点进行综述、比较和评论,进而揭示叶维廉先生在我国艾略特诗歌创作、诗学理论研究与诗歌翻译方面的杰出贡献。

Ye Weilian is the first scholar who has made the most comprehensive critical studies on T.S.Eliot’s poetry and poetics in Taiwan.With an interpretative reading of Ye Weilian’s essays published during 1957-1960 in Taiwan about his studies on T.S.Eliot,this paper has more of focus on such ideas as“objective correlative”,“meditative presentation”,“a unique honesty”and“the suggestiveness of true poetry”in his translation and studies of T.S.Eliot,thus showing the contributions made by Ye Weilian to the studies about and translations of T.S.Eliot’s poetry and poetics in China.
