摘要
阿特伍德小说《强盗新娘》展现了一个后现代社会荒唐的生存状态,存在大量“局外人”文学形象。该作品在主人公人物形象、内容、情节、结构与主旨上都与法国存在主义文学大师阿尔贝·加缪的代表作《局外人》存在着明显的互文关系。小说塑造了一系列生于二战期间的女性“局外人”形象,展现了一个后现代畸形婚恋和情感失衡的荒唐世界;带有“邪恶”标签的边缘人是主人公升华为英雄的引路人;主人公从“泽妮娅之死”中获得新的生命启示,即与荒诞世界抗争的勇气,获得超越自我的超道德价值,从而重启新生之旅。
Margaret Atwood’s novel The Robber Bride unfolds absurd survival condition in post-modern society,where there are quite a few literary characters who could be classified as“outsiders”.This novel is intertextually related with The Stranger by Albert Camus,the French existentialist literary giant in content,structure and motif.The female outsider characters were born during World War II,living in an absurd world of abnormal love and marriage unbalanced feelings.Another evil female outsider character serves as the guide to show the leading woman characters the way to becoming heroines.The leading woman outsider characters obtain the enlightenment from“the death of Zenia”with incredible courage to fight the absurd world and super-moral values transcending self,thus start a new life of self.
