英语专业ESP课程混合教学模式探究——以兰州大学《科技英语》为例

A tentative study on blended learning of English-Major ESP Courses in Lanzhou University

专业用途英语(ESP)虽然是当今英语专业学生的一项基本素质,但很多学生体现出了一定的知识与技能不足。针对此问题,兰州大学外国语学院ESP教学团队开展基于超星学习通移动平台的英语专业《科技英语》课程(EST)混合教学新模式探索,充分利用现代科技手段,以移动互联网为操作平台,试图采用四维度教学模式,即课内学习方式与课外学习方式混合、讲授式教学与自主式学习混合、传统媒体与新媒体混合、专业用途英语知识与技能混合,提高学生的专业用途英语基本技能与综合运用能力。定性与定量的实证研究证明了基于“学习通平台”的混合式教学模式对提高学生专业英语读写水平与能力具有积极的促进作用,应推广到其他ESP课程的教学实践中。

ESP is a basic quality for English majors,many of whom show a certain level of lack of relevant knowledge and skills.To solve this problem,the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures’ESP teaching team is carrying out a new study of blended learning mode of English-major EST(English for science and technology)courses in Lanzhou University based on the Xuexitong Mobile Platform with four dimensional blended learning mode,namely a blend of classroom learning and extracurricular learning,lecture-style teaching and autonomous learning,traditional media and new media,ESP knowledge and technique,to improve students’ESP basic skills and ability of comprehensive utilization.
