By using the methods of literature,field investigation,expert consultation and logical analysis,this paper analyzes the physical education major of North Texas University in the United States from the aspects of training concept,curriculum,undergraduate practice,teaching staff,teacher qualif ication examination,etc.Results:the training concept of physical education major of North Texas University focuses on the cultivation of students'interest;undergraduate practice runs through the university curriculum;the teaching staff is simplified,the academic and teaching level is high,and postgraduate teaching is conducted;the assessment of teachers'qualification certificate has strong difficulties.Education enlightenment:education based on students'interests is the breakthrough;general courses are added to provide students with learning opportunities of other majors;teaching methods are focused on training students,and teamwork is emphasized;graduate students in our school are properly employed to teach professional courses;and the threshold of obtaining teachers'qualification certificate is raised.
