In this paper, it introduces the regulatory requirement of the protection of the driver against the steering mechanism in the event of impact(abbr. steering protection) in global mainstream markets, including China, Europe, USA, Brazil, Middle East and Korea.Russia, Japan and Australia accept directly ECE R12, so the regulation in these markets are not studied here separately. In this paper, you can realize the common points and different points in the regulation of steering protection in different market and provide the information for references in the field of vehicle product R&D, prototype, validation and certification.
