Characteristics of Rieter comber at various development stage were discussed.According to structure characteristic and performance of different types comber,development stage of Rieter comber were divided into mechanical development stage,computer aided process development technical aided development stage,new carding concept and intelligent drive technology development stage.Structure characteristics and technology features of each stage comber were emphatically introduced.Draw frame and lap machine combined and cotton lap automatic transportation system that matched with comber at different stage were briefly introduced.It is considered that the three development stages respectively represent development direction and advanced level of comber at the time.
