The Influence and Enlightenment of Saussure’s Linguistics on the Development of Contemporary Linguistics

索绪尔在现代语言发展,尤其是在语言学的基本讨论以及对于语言本质的思考方面贡献突出。大多数学者认为结构主义语言学、形式语言学以及功能主义语言学的基础就是索绪尔的语言学理论,学者在索绪尔语言学的局限性以及三个语言学研究方向的横向观察上研究薄弱。索绪尔语言观在当代语言学发展中影响深远,但索绪尔语言学存在局限性。应发挥索绪尔语言学的优势,推进当代语言学发展。

Mr.Saussure has made outstanding contributions to the development and progress of modern language,especially in the basic discussion of linguistics and the pondering over the nature of language.Most scholars think that Saussure’s linguistic theory is the basis of structuralist linguistics,formal linguistics and functional linguistics,but few scholars can clearly point out the limitations of Saussure’s linguistics and make a horizontal observation of the above three linguistic research directions.Saussure’s view of language,despite its limitations,has a profound infl uence on the development of contemporary linguistics.Therefore,we should give full play to the advantages of Saussure linguistics and promote the development of contemporary linguistics.
