本文对“根苗”和“根芽”的词汇化与意义转变过程进行了历时的描写,指出它们在历时中分别产生了“植物的部分”“后代、子孙”“事情的原由、根源”和“事情的详细经过”四种义项,进而指出影响“根苗”和“根芽”词汇化与意义转变的因素包括汉语双音节化的趋势和转喻隐喻机制。

This paper gave a diachronic description for lexicalization and transferred meaning of"Genmiao"and"Genya",illustrated they obtained four kinds of meanings,named"part of plants","future generations","beginning of an event"and"details of an event".Furthermore,this paper also indicated the motivations influenced lexicalization of"Genmiao"and"Genya"includes the tendency towards two-syllable words and mechanism of metaphor and metonymy.
