“广州湾法军指挥部旧址”新考

Research on the"Former French Army Command of Kouang-Tchéou-Wan"

湛江旧称"广州湾",1899年至1945年间为法国租借地。广州湾白雅特城内现被命名为"广州湾法军指挥部旧址"的全国重点文物保护单位在名称、建成时间等方面的信息存疑。该文结合法文文献、历史地图、早期影像和现场勘察,考查该建筑的始建功能、建成时间、选址缘由和建筑样式,认为该建筑实为建成于1921年的广州湾总公使邸。

The city of Zhanjiang was named"Kouang-Tchéou-Wan"when it was leased by France from 1899 to 1945."Former French Army Command of Kouang-Tchéou-Wan"is one of the major historical and cultural sites protected at the national level in Fort-bayard,but the basic information is still uncertain,like its name and the accurate completion time.Based on French documents,combined with historical maps,old images and site surveys,we verified the original function,completion time,reasons for the site selection and architectural style of the building,we believed that the building was actually the Chief Administrator’s Residence of Kouang-Tchéou-Wan,built in 1921.
