E.B.White is a prestigious American writer of children’s literature.He told a story of the friendship between Charlotte and Wilbur in“Charlotte’s Web”.With transitivity theory,the paper analyzes the process types,participants and circumstantial elements with the purpose of exploring how the language of the novel presents the author’s attitude towards nature,animal and human,thus to decode the writer’s ecological philosophy.Besides,the positive eco-discourse in the novel could provide the beneficial examples for writing and arouse people’s positive ecological idea to instruct people’s action.
