信息论视角下石油化工翻译中的冗余处理

On Redundancy in Petrochemical Translation from the Perspective of Information Theory

冗余是信息论中的一个基础概念,现已广泛应用于各种信息传输的研究。翻译也是一种传递信息的活动,因此冗余的概念也对翻译实践具有指导作用。本文选取石油化工文本为研究对象,分析其机器译文中的冗余失衡现象,并探讨修改方法,主要从省略与缩略、转换结构、逻辑重组、增补四个方面出发,旨在对计算机辅助翻译实践起到指导作用,并对石油化工技术的传播起到推动作用。

Redundancy is a fundamental concept in information theory and is now widely used in the study of various information transmission. The translation is also an activity of transmitting information, so redundancy also has a guiding role in translation practice. This paper selects petrochemical text as the research object, analyzes the redundancy imbalance in machine translation, and discusses the modification methods, aiming to serve as a guide for computer-aided translation practice.
